Music star Taylor Swift releases new album 'Midnights'
On Friday, American music icon Taylor Swift released "Midnights," her tenth studio album, along with extra songs recorded for the project.
The 13-track album, according to the 32-year-old singer-songwriter, is "a collage of intensity, highs and lows, and ebbs and flows."
With the post on her Instagram continuing: "Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights."
While describing the album's lead single, "Anti-Hero," as one of her favorite songs she's ever written and one that delves into her insecurities, Swift said she first heard the term "Lavender Haze" while watching the television series "Mad Men" about being in love. The first track on the album is called "Lavender Haze."
Lana Del Rey is featured on the song "Snow On The Beach," which Swift claimed she had long appreciated.
While "Midnights" is a whole concept album "of the intensity of that bewildering, mad hour," the "Shake It Off" and "Bad Blood" singer also revealed on Instagram overnight that she likes sharing her creative process with fans and has released more songs that weren't included in the record.
Swift, who has won 11 Grammy Awards, has topped charts with her last albums, including the two surprise ones she released during the COVID-19 pandemic, "Folklore" and "Evermore".
